26 Billion Queries and Counting! We're proud to announce that, for the first time ever, OpenDNS served 26 billion websites to our users in a single day in April. For some perspective, that's more than 14 websites for each Internet user in the world. Our continued growth is due to your support, so thank you for helping us create a faster, safer, and more reliable Internet experience for everyone! You can follow the stats for yourself at system.opendns.com, or tell your friends about OpenDNS from your account dashboard. Engineering Notes (or why OpenDNS.com seems faster)by Doug Tabacco, OpenDNS Engineer We hope you've noticed our Web tools running a little faster these days. The OpenDNS Engineering team has been busy working to make all of the tools you love a little speedier. You should see general speed improvements throughout the dashboard and the rest of opendns.com. In particular though you should see much better performance from CacheCheck. CacheCheck allows you to manually refresh OpenDNS's caches to fix a number of problems, and we've rewritten much of it in the last few weeks to step up the performance. Go ahead and take a few moments to click around the dashboard sometime. We hope you'll be happy with the improvement! Customer Spotlight: The Atlanta BravesWe're thrilled to announce that the Atlanta Braves have chosen OpenDNS to secure its network across all of its facilities. From Turner Field in Atlanta, all the way to its field in the Dominican Republic (as well as the Orlando, FL spring training facility and its minor league teams across the southern US), Atlanta Braves team and crewmembers now enjoy a faster, safer, and more reliable Internet connection. The Atlanta Braves' deployment serves as an excellent example of how OpenDNS can help protect businesses with networks that span multiple locations easily without the need for a costly appliance and IT team at each site. (If you think your workplace could also benefit from using OpenDNS, don't forget to let your IT team know!)
