"If you're not growing, you're dying" is a quote that has been thrown around the BC offices lately, and it has become like our unofficial motto. Growth here has come in many forms. New talented team members have been added, new ways to connect and share are being developed and changes that will revolutionize the distribution and consumption of blog content are underway. | (Re)Creating Your BlogCatalog One thing bloggers definitely do not lack is an opinion, and the BlogCatalog community has never been shy about sharing theirs. Whether you love what we're doing or hate it, you always provide us with honest feedback and we love that. It may be overdue, but the BC team is currently moving full steam ahead on a redesign and some new product developments based on the feedback you have given us. Some of the key points being addressed are providing a platform for more meaningful interaction between members and developing a highly personalized content delivery system that allows bloggers and readers to find, rate and share quality content. We're excited about the things to come and we hope you'll be excited by them too. Check the BlogCatalog blog periodically for updates on what's in store and when it'll be rolled out. | Answering The Age Old Question, "How Do I Get More Readers?" If you're a blogger who talks to other bloggers (hopefully you are), then you have probably heard the question "How do I get more readers?" asked a thousand times. The funny thing is that while the question get asked over and over, the answer seems to remain the same. In a guest post by ZenCollegeLife's Mellisa Tamura, SmartBloggerz gives the answer to those who may not have heard them yet. She begins by asking "How do you differentiate yourself amongst a million voices who are all striving to get the same attention and readership that you are? How do you reach out to an audience that is already drowning in noise?" Check out the post for Tamura's Top 10 attention grabbing tips. | | Get Your Blog Published In The Blogpaper Karl Jo Seilern and Anton Waldburg, managing partners of theblogpaper.co.uk, seem to be swimming against the currents in the ever turbulent waters that are the publishing industry. While most print publications are moving more and more content online in order to reach an increasingly tech-savvy, internet-based and mobile readership, Seilern and Waldburg are taking blog content offline in the blogpaper--the UK's first completely user-generated, free newspaper. | Featured Blog: Dropping In On A Killer Surf Art Blog Even though I have never surfed, I find the sport--as well as the community, the fashion and the art that surround it--beautiful and intriguing. So, I was very excited when I stumbled across Club of the Waves. The art is just plain awesome. The style of the pieces shared on the blog range from what I'd call classic surf art to retro 70's style to 60's style psychedelic stuff too. There are also some amazing portraits and of course some very vivid and beautiful photos.
