Changes to Google Privacy Policy and Terms of Service

Is this email not displaying properly?
View it in your browser.

Dear Google user,

We're getting rid of over 60 different privacy policies across Google and replacing them with one that's a lot shorter and easier to read. Our new policy covers multiple products and features, reflecting our desire to create one beautifully simple and intuitive experience across Google.

We believe that this stuff matters so please take a few minutes to read our updated Privacy Policy and Terms of Service at http://www.google.com/policies. These changes will take effect on 1 March, 2012.

One policy, one Google experience
Easy to work across Google Tailored for you Easy to share and collaborate
Easy to work across Google

Our new policy reflects a single product experience that does what you need, when you want it to. Whether you're reading an email that reminds you to schedule a family get-together or finding a favourite video that you want to share, we want to ensure that you can move across Gmail, Calendar, Search, YouTube or whatever your life calls for, with ease.

Tailored for you

If you're signed in to Google, we can do things like suggest search queries – or tailor your search results – based on the interests that you've expressed in Google+, Gmail and YouTube. We'll better understand which version of Pink or Jaguar you're searching for and get you those results faster.

Easy to share and collaborate

When you post or create a document online, you often want others to see and contribute. By remembering the contact information of the people you want to share with, we make it easy for you to share in any Google product or service with minimal clicks and errors.

Protecting your privacy hasn't changed

Our goal is to provide you with as much transparency and choice as possible through products like Google Dashboard and Ad Preferences Manager, alongside other tools. Our privacy principles remain unchanged. And we'll never sell your personal information or share it without your permission (other than rare circumstances like valid legal requests).

Have questions?
We have answers.

Visit our FAQ at http://www.google.com/policies/faq to read more about the changes. (We reckoned our users might have a question or twenty-two.)

Notice of Change

1 March, 2012 is when the new Privacy Policy and Terms will come into effect. If you choose to keep using Google once the change occurs, you will be doing so under the new Privacy Policy and Terms of Service.

Please do not reply to this email. Mail sent to this address cannot be answered. Also, never enter your Google Account password after following a link in an email or chat to an untrusted site. Instead, go directly to the site, such as mail.google.com or www.google.com/accounts. Google will never email you to ask for your password or other sensitive information.

Sony, Great Opportunity!

Hey Sony, my friend Preston Ely has a job for you.

It can be full-time or very part-time.

All it entails is finding foreclosed houses and referring them to a list of landlords.
You’ll make anywhere from $2,250 to $10,500 for every single one.

http://forwardrocketlaunch.com/?a=2948&c=2381&s1=

As you know, 1 in 8 people are in foreclosure right now. So this is a bit of a no-brainer.
Walk outside, throw a rock, and you’ll probably smash the window of a foreclosed house.

The good news? You’re already qualified. The bad news? So are 100 other people in your city.
And he only wants a few of you. . . .

Watch this free virtual-orientation
http://forwardrocketlaunch.com/?a=2948&c=2381&s1=

If you are broke, unemployed, living week to week, hating your job, or just wanting a better life
for yourself ... you need to watch this video now.

He can help you, and you can help him. But he's only looking for a few people in each city,
so watch the video now.

Making bank with 2 minute cash calls.

SurveyScout - Online Marketing Fueled by Research

Dear Sony,

Two minutes…

That’s how long it could take to net you $60…
$120… or even more.

No… that’s not a typo…

And it’s certainly not some kind of joke.

In fact… the details are laid out in Justin
Elenburg’s latest video.

==>> Click Here

If you haven’t watched it yet… do it now.

I’m serious…

Clear your schedule for a few minutes…
grab a pen and paper… and take notes.

Because the strategies revealed in this
100% free video could make you a ton of
money.

And if you have already watched it…
you’ve gotta see it again.

I’m serious…

Once every few years someone comes along in
marketing and really throws everyone a curve-
ball. They expose the lies of everyone before
them… then sell you a way to make it all true.

This is like that… EXCEPT this video is
selling you NOTHING. He’s giving away the
secret!

==>> Click Here

In this video, Justin reveals an almost entirely
overlooked mobile marketing strategy that unlike
the rest… actually works no matter what!

It’s so obvious… you’re going to kick
yourself for not thinking of it earlier.

And here’s the cool part…

Using this method… you get paid even if you
NEVER make a single sale!

Plus… it works like gangbusters on the 81% of
the population who don’t have a “smart” phone.

Check it out here…

==>> Click Here

And you know what I LOVE about this video?

It’s not a “tease” or some clever marketing
ploy…

Justin literally tells you exactly what you
need to do in order to create amazing results
with your own mobile campaigns.

After you’ve finished watching it… you can
instantly start doing what he does to make
serious bank.

So if you’re sick and tired of working your butt
off on stupid methods that don’t produce results…
you need to watch this video right now:

(I’m going back to watch it again myself!)

Susan Smith

P.S. I guarantee you… I’ve never seen anyone
teaching the type of mobile Justin outlines in
this video. And not only is he’s showing you
but he’s showing you for FREE! Do yourself a
favor, and check it out now…

[OpenDNS] Phishing quiz, Eastern Mountain Sports, Happy Holidays

View this email in a web browser

In This Issue

  1. Can you spot a phish? Take our quiz and find out!
  2. Take OpenDNS home for the holidays
  3. Check out the new OpenDNS.com
  4. Meet an OpenDNSer: Frank Denis
  5. Customer spotlight: Eastern Mountain Sports

Can you spot a phish? Take our quiz and find out!

Ebay Phish Example

As the holiday season kicks into full gear, and online shopping skyrockets, it's more important than ever to stay ahead of online scams. But as technology improves, it's getting more difficult to detect the difference between real websites and scams. That's why we created the OpenDNS Phishing Quiz. Phishing is when cyber criminals try to lure your personal information, like credit card numbers or login credentials, by masquerading as a trusted entity.

The quiz is designed to help you determine how good you are at identifying online phishing scams. But we know OpenDNS users are top-notch when it comes to spotting a scam. So, while we tried to make the quiz challenging for our security savvy users, we also added features that will make it a helpful tool to share with family and friends who could benefit from an overview on phishing.

Take the quiz now and then compare scores with friends and family. If someone you know didn't do very well, make sure they're protected by helping them set up OpenDNS. As you know, OpenDNS takes the guesswork out of identifying phishing scams by automatically blocking questionable sites, so your loved ones will be safe no matter what.

Good luck!

Take OpenDNS home for the holidays

OpenDNS for the holidays

Gift giving can be tough. We all have stories about visiting four stores to find the must-have toy of the season just to have our kids spend hours playing with the box it came in. Or, about getting Dad that GPS device that (five years later) still hasn't made it into his car.

That's why this year we're recommending you give your friends and family a gift that will keep them feeling safe and happy all year long. We're talking about helping them set up OpenDNS, of course. As an experienced user you know it can be up and running in no time at all. Imagine the security you can give your loved ones with just a few simple clicks.

So when you're visiting family and friends, take a few minutes to set up OpenDNS on their router and help them configure desired settings for Web filtering or phishing protection. Or, include a link to set-up instructions in an annual family newsletter or e-greeting. This is one gift that no one is going to want to return.

New OpenDNS

Hey, we've been listening to you! Each month we get lots of advice from OpenDNS users, and frequently we hear that you'd like to see more tools and toys on OpenDNS.com that can help you teach friends about DNS and the exciting things we're doing around here. Well, have you visited OpenDNS.com lately? We think you'll like what you see!

The recently-remodeled OpenDNS.com now includes a flood of resources that can easily be shared and are straightforward enough that everyone can understand them. And they accomplish all sorts of neat stuff: From explaining DNS in a straightforward way to introducing our awesome showcase of customers to displaying the amount of DNS we handle per month, week and even per second. There's also a network map that that shows which of our 12 datacenters you're talking to and - perhaps more importantly - what exactly that means.

So take a tour and let us know what you think. We're excited to hear your feedback.

Meet an OpenDNSer: Frank Denis

Frank Denis

OpenDNS is on a non-stop innovation campaign, and we've got the brightest minds in the business creating exciting technological firsts every day. Frank Denis is one of the geniuses behind our latest security project (DNSCrypt) among other legendary Internet inventions. Read on to find out what keeps Frank moving.

You're known as a trailblazer in the security community. How did you get started in technology and security?
I learned how to program by cracking games on Atari and hacking my sister's scientific calculator. In high school I was poking around our school's network and discovered some security vulnerabilities. I quickly realized that the fun was in discovering flaws, not using them to my own advantage. I went to work as a security consultant to show large corporations how everything from weak passwords to conversations around the coffee machine could be damaging, and helped them improve. Now I work on the other side, as a developer creating new technologies to make the Internet safer.

You've been in San Francisco for five months and you've already worn through three pairs of sneakers. How is that possible?
I love to walk, run and hike. I walk about 45 minutes to work each day. In fact, since I've been here, I've never taken a bus or taxi. One of my favorite hobbies is geocaching, a modern-day treasure hunt using a GPS device. The basic idea is that you use your GPS-enabled phone or device to find cache boxes that are hidden at specific coordinates. It makes running around the city very exciting, and it's a fantastic way to discover new places and trails and meet new people.

You're our resident French translator but your multilingual abilities don't stop there. What else do you speak fluently?
My first language is French, but I am constantly experimenting with new languages. Programming languages, that is. My English is terrible (*Editor's note: We disagree!) but I'm fluent in C, Ruby, Javascript and Erlang. I've written several articles for French computer magazines and a few books on Linux, but sadly they're only available in French. But, I wrote and maintain several pieces of open source software, which I love because anyone can see how it works and add features or functionality, creating common-ground between people from all different backgrounds who speak many different languages.

What is your favorite thing about working at OpenDNS?
OpenDNS is by far the coolest place I've ever worked. We have a fully-stocked kitchen, but that's only one of the kazillion things that happen daily that make me happy to come to work. I love that we are all working as a single team, rather than distinct departments that barely know what each other are doing. I've been a long-time OpenDNS user, too, so helping to grow something I believe in makes a huge difference.

P.S. OpenDNS is hiring like crazy. Come work with Frank and help make the Internet safer with innovative new technology.
